It is always fascinating how these head coaches who claim to be hands-on in every facet of the program — suddenly act like an overwhelmed substitute teacher when scandal can no longer be bottled up through the power of the athletics department to manipulate the narrative with compliant local media members. Remember, it was the student newspaper that broke the story.
